In 2008 an unsuccessful application was made to The Darwin initiative for funding for this project. As a result of the feedback received, through this trip we aim to develop better collaborations with a range of project partners, including those already identified. In particular it will be our aim to forge links with, and ensure the participation of, the Ministry of Environment, and secure an ongoing commitment to implement the conservation strategy. In collaboration with project partners, we aim to plan the project in greater detail, to identify more easily the potential barriers to the success of the project and how these may be overcome, and to plan the sustainability of the project in the medium to long-term.
