Summary
to enhance regional understanding of the legal and scientific issues involved in conservation, sutainable use and fair and equitable sharing of marine biodivrsity in the exclusive economic zones of Pacific island countries, their enclosed high seas and those aresa beyond national jurisdiction; to raise the awareness of stakeholeers in the region of the impacts of human activity on high seas biodiversity; to develop a set of national and regional level policy recommendations for managing the conservation, sustainable use and fair and equitable sharing of marine biodiversity in the high seas of the Pacific Region through a participatory process; to exchange information resulting from the project with regions facing similar issues outside the Pacific.
