The vital role that plants play in human well-being has been recognized for centuries but the urgent need for their protection has only recently been acknowledged. To date, the most robust call to action is the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation (GSPC). GSPC Objective II - Plant diversity is urgently and effectively conserved – is the nucleus of this proposal.
