Summary

Community-based conservation and wise use of Pyu and Paleik Wetlands, providing improved protection of Critically Endangered Baer’s Porchard and other migratory waterbirds through designation of community conservation areas and introduction of sustainable fisheries/ agricultural practices, enabled by a strengthened Mandalay Regional Wetland Conservation Committee representing all relevant stakeholders, facilitating cross-sectoral collaboration for mainstreaming of wetland conservation into regional development planning.
