Summary
Human-wildlife conflict is a major challenge for both conservation and livelihoods. Honeyguide is a Tanzanian grassroots organisation that has developed a remarkably effective community-owned approach for tackling human-elephant conflict. Honeyguide will build capacity to use this tried-and-tested approach beyond Tanzania through: 1) in-person training for community rangers from Namibia (at their request); and 2) development (with IIED) of interactive training material for dissemination to other countries and communities.
The African partners are supported and mentored throughout the project by IIED
The UK remains committed to playing a significant role in the world, in our national interest, in the interests of the poorest, and to ensure a liveable planet.
